I hope all our newbies are happy with how the swap went for them this year.

The numbers say that all newbies got lots of new seeds to try out. This makes the veterans 😊

Newbies, you'll notice you have a new bar/line on your page now. This is the list that needs to printed out by machine or hand and enclosed in seperate bags with each player's seeds.

Please label all your seed packets clearly with the name and date of harvest/purchase. For those of you that offered traded seeds, no date needed. When trading, a 2020 seed trade/swap could result in 2015 seeds. If they haven't come to you with a date then no date needed.

We've discussed the issue of adding traded seeds into the swap. We've decided that next year, traded seeds will not be allowed in this swap.

I'll be printing my list and getting my seeds ready in players return envelopes this weekend. I should be able to have seeds out the next business day after the last envelope arrives.

Lisa, this was my first swap on this forum. Very smooth and efficient! I know you had some help from Alana, but kudos to you! I will be packing up the rest of my seeds, and hope to get them in the mail tomorrow morning (I will let you know when they're on the way).

To all the other players: THANK YOU for taking so many of my seeds! And although I probably shouldn't say this, as I am coming away with a significant number of new ones, thank you for providing such great choices.

I'm glad to hear traded seeds will be out. I put a pack in once when I accidentally dibbed a zone 9 plant the year before, and a few when I helped Trudi get her seeds swapped out when she couldn't join the swap herself. Other than that I have only offered self collected or bought or donated seeds from reputable sources. I prefer not to keep sending the same seeds around.

That's why I won't be joining the next two swaps. I only grew & was able to collect just so many different types of seeds & won't have any different types until next year & I don't trade seeds I've acquired from trades nor any seeds older than the previous year because I like to be able to guarantee the seeds I trade are what I say they are & that they are fresh & viable.

Thank you. Idk if I'd think of it as having integrity though. It is just my preference. I don't think I have any more integrity than people who choose to trade previously traded seeds or older seeds. I believe that people who trade previously traded or older seeds have just as much integrity as I do as long as they are honest about them being previously traded & the date of the seeds.

The new traded seed rule will make it so that everyone is getting freshly collected/purchased seed.

We all know that even fresh collected may not germinate for some reason but trading undated traded seeds just doesn't seem fair to those who take time to
grow, collect and bag seeds for swapping.

I've gotten many seeds labeled traded with no date that don't germinate. It's very disappointing.

I offered a few traded packs that came from 2 reputable traders, one that normally joins this swap(tabbycat) and the other from the garden web who I've traded with for years(lynn). They sent very generous packets so I listed them but I won't be doing that either. These seeds would be great for freebies in future swaps.

Hopefully you all understand that we're just trying to make this an enjoyable swap for everyone involved.

If we can do PayPal, that'd be super! Could I also have your information? I only have one more pack to stuff then I'm done. this was super fun. My nine year daughter chose many of the flowers for herself.

I too had lots of fun with this swap, and I packed the seeds and package per rules of the swap, but - mea culpa - although I hope I did everything right, my package is a mess inside. Logically organized, but it ain't purty. Lisa, I hope you'll forgive me, and I'll try to do better next year.
