The vast majority of iris lovers limit themselves to the traditional "one season" irises. They miss the main advantage of a rebloomer. For instance, I continue to be impressed with TB-Re Starring Encore's prolonged bloom. This small patch of 5 plants has been blooming since Nov. 21 and still has buds to open. These photos were taken Feb. 1, 2021. The last bloom period (2019-2020) was four consecutive months. It's a winner in the world of rebloomers! And, yes, rebloomers can be stunning. (Mike Sutton introduced for 2021 two stunning TB rebloomers: River of Grace and Edged Out - Mike forgot to add "rebloomer" to its official description.) Other hybridizers of rebloomers, also, offer great looking varieties.

To answer your question, yes, it would for me, if the entire plant itself looks good. Yours look amazing in the photographs by the way.

I naturalize my perennials, so beautiful iris blooms with crispy and browning/yellowing iris foliage wouldn't be as appealing.

I have really tried to focus on getting re-bloomers. My "catches" this year are Innocent Star, and Earl of Essex, both rebloomers. I don't like getting iris mail order because I tend to find so many more rhizomes when I buy in a nursery. Like on both of those they had 5 or more plantlets growing off the main rhizome. I would love to get a few rebloomers from online iris gardens this year but now that I have 2, I probably won't get anymore because my little garden has limited space.

I added iris to my garden this year and I have a few rebloomers so I hope they work out. When I perused the websites looking for irises, I tried to look at the "Rebloomer" list first. What a ncie surprise to have in September.

I live in a location where hard freezes can occur when the spring bloom season is well underway. About every four years my spring bloom gets hit hard. But I can always look forward to the rebloomers' show. Something will start by the end of July and things are peaking in October until fall hard freezes. Last fall that was the last week of October. To be honest, for things that bloom in spring and again in Sept-Oct, the fall blooms have the richer color.

Starring Encore does well for me too..
I think my best performer though, is Mariposa Autumn.. This year, it was blooming from September through Christmas..

Winterberry irises is a great source for rebloomers.

I live in Colorado Rockies at 8000 ft. I ordered 8 reblooming iris from Winterberry Catalog that have been known to rebloom in zone 4. I have an experimental raised bed, with a soil mix per Mr Spoons recommendation and fertilization program. They didn't bloom the first year, but did survive winter nicely, and I am just now seeing the snow melting off of them this year. Wish me luck on seeing bloom this season. In the front of his catalog, it give good instructions for rebloomer. Generally, they need more fertilizer and more water.

I have mixed feelings about rebloomers at least where I live in East Tennessee. When I get rebloomers, which is seldom they bloom in November when all but a few natives have passed on ... and they look so odd and out of place. You can see how beautiful but forlorn this iris looks.

I have to confess that I have mixed feelings about the rebloomers, too.

On the one hand, they are great in theory - more blooms per year per clump, and the plants are (or should be) more garden-space-worthy than the spring-only bloomers.

On the other hand, the entire clump never reblooms (at least not at the same time, if at all), and rebloom can come at an awkward time (when it's too cold for colors to properly form or for the bloom to open well, or even when the temperatures get down to near-freezing). Not to mention that the rebloomers are (thus far) lagging behind the spring-only bloomers in terms of form and color patterns.

But on the third hand... If the rebloom comes at a good time, when nothing much else is going on in the garden, then those blooms are precious.

Rebloom in my garden overall tends to be somewhat scattered and unpredictable. All that I am willing to commit to at this point is that TOTAL RECALL is dependable in giving some rebloom.

Sometimes the blooms on my rebloomers get eaten by tarnish plant bugs and cucumber beetles.
If they bloom really late I feel the need to protect the blooms when a freeze is expected---or I just cut the entire stalk and hope the buds continue to open inside. I do enjoy the blooms, but I tend to avoid getting rebloomers.

What a beautiful picture! My problem is that by Dec 2, there is a fire going in *my* wood stove. I actually have a few re-bloomers but they've never rebloomed for me.

Take a look at Chapman Iris in Ontario. Several of his introductions list rebloom in zone 3!! as to lonely rebloomers surrounded by fall garden blahs, I am hoping to dedicate a small patch of rebloomers so as to make more of a statement and lengthen my garden presence. Just an idea.....
