Thread OP
Dripping Springs, Texas
I plan to plant lantana in an area of yard, approximately 6' by 20', however, this area is extremely rocky. Will lantana survive in this type of terrain? What can I do if anything to make this area more compatible for this lantana to thrive?

Thank you.

Most of the time Lantana are very shallow rooted and I bet they will do fine in rocky soil . You might want to add some soil conditioner to your soil though. Where do you live? I'm in the Atlanta area and there is only one lantana that is always perennial here and that is Miss Huff. Make sure you don't prune back the last season's branches until early spring or water can get in the hollow stems and rot the roots. It is very easy to root lantana to expand your collection or pass along plants to your friends. Hummingbirds and butterflies just love Lantana! Lantana is one of the last plants to break dormancy each spring.
