Thread OP

Can someone guide me as to how I can fix my little friend here? I'm scared the stem is going to break.

Cute plants! It is OK if the stem breaks. You can poke a hole in the soil and stick the head back into the pot. The stump may or may not grow a new head.

Or you could be pre-emptive and cut it where you want it to branch.

Welcome!

I believe I have the same echeveria, or one very similar. When it started getting elongated like this, I beheaded it and stuck it back into the soil. Now, it has rooted and it is thriving again, though it did take a longer time to start producing roots than I expected from other echeverias like PVN. (Well over a month, though this was done in winter when the windowsill temperature was somewhat lower so that was probably a factor.)

As a precaution, if you want to go that route (beheading and replanting) I would let the cut end of the stem dry out for at least several days before planting, to prevent rot. The leaves may shrivel dejectedly for a while but you will know you've succeeded when they start to plump up again. Thumbs up

Agree. That is how all of these plants got into this pallet thingie. They are a hybrid, Graptoveria, but the principle is the same. You can't see it but just under the front wood slats is window screen, so the dirt doesn't fall out. The plants were placed by cutting slits in the window screen and sticking stems through. It's time to cut off all of the lower ones that have reached the ground.
