Tree identification in the Plant ID forum

Just moved to West Virginia and have trees that I need help in identifying.
This one has these type of "blooms" that are like discs, green color and clusters.
This clump in the photo fell on the ground

The clusters are now turning brown and dropping off the trees. Sure makes a big mess but I guess it is better than having snow flying.
Thanks for any help on the tree identification.

That's an Elm tree and every one of those green snowflakes are going to grow into a new tree.

Thanks for the reply. Goodness they sure do make a mess so I'll keep up with the mowing to be sure nothing sprouts.
