This guy just popped up in one of my planters this spring. I have no idea what it is and I've never planted a flower like this before. I live in Northwestern PA, although I'm assuming it's not a native plant and likely came in as a seed from someone else's garden. Whatever it is, I love it and definitely plan to keep it and let it grow, I'd just like a name for it!

Columbines are perennial (so this one will be back) and also grow easily from seed. You can buy a couple favorite colors and watch them spread or buy a packet of mixed seeds and toss them into the garden next fall. I would go down to the BigBox store and buy a couple more colors and plant them now. They will bloom, go to seed and spread into your garden. I love Columbines so more the better in my garden. They are humminbird favorites too.
