I was told that using cinnamon will prevent mold growth in potted indoor plants. Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Are you having mold now?
I dont expect mold to be common on outdoor plants. The air and light prevents it.
Plant it and they will come.

Welcome!

Did you by chance use Miracle Grow Moisture control potting mix? It stayed way too wet when I used it indoors and I had mold/fungus grow on the soil. I now only use it outdoors.

Cinnamon will help deter fungus. But depending on the cause it may not be effective. Can you show us some pictures of your problem?

***I did not use Miracle Grow Moisture Control. Some people have had the same problem as you had based on Amazon reviews of the product so I've steered away from using that soil. :)***

***At the moment the mold attack isn't really that big. Its just the size of a pea and I easily removed it. I was curious if there's any tips or preventative measure I could do right now.***

Ok Smiling
" watering too frequently and or too much" seems to be a common plant newbie habit and one that would encourage mold or fungus. Dont be afraid to let them seem a little dry before watering. If they still seem wet do not water, not even a sip.
Plant it and they will come.
