Nice irises, Frank and Curtis. Black Joker is so unusual. Schafer and Sacks have taken Siberian iris hybridizing to interesting places!

Here the Siberians have just finished blooming and I'm waiting for the Japanese irises to start.

Thumb of 2021-06-13/Tienito/ccf069 GREAT FALLS LOVE (Cole 2006). Very ruffled and horizontal flowers. I find the colors mesmerizing. This deserves a better spot in my garden.

Thumb of 2021-06-13/Tienito/c31df7 SHIPS ARE SAILING (Schafer/Sacks 1998). Quite large flowers. I love this and can't wait for it to become a larger clump.

Thumb of 2021-06-13/Tienito/718866 SWANS IN FLIGHT (Hollingworth 2006). A celebrated iris, but personally I'm underwhelmed. The show doesn't last very long at all, and I guess I like more colors in irises.

Thumb of 2021-06-13/Tienito/9dec4f JAYBIRD (Hager 1982). My favorite Siberian. A gardening blogger kindly sent me a division of this. It's vigorous and puts on an amazing show.
