Beautiful daylilies, Fred!

It was finally warm enough for a few of mine to open properly.

Watermelon Summer is a new one.

It all balances. After last night's cold temperatures took care of my iris, wisteria, and flax; in return I get my first scapes.

Can you guess which of my nearly 200 daylilies it is? If you have been paying attention, you know it has to be MISTER BUTTERS, and it is!

I figure this counts as June blooms because they will become June blooms barring the return of the elk herd that trampled everything this winter.

Celebrate, celebrate, dance to the music. (Three Dog Night from a long time ago, some of you will remember right?)

Only four named cultivars bloomed today, one of which never opened fully. I'll also create a NoID/garden names thread for "The Funkster."

These are two days' worth of flowers and I can tell you I was astonished at the color of the daylilies today, so much deeper or richer, whatever term is right. Perhaps because the temp was 58 degrees with some cloud cover--at least it wasn't raining Hurray!

There are so many scapes out there, but none with a high bud count. I blame this on the hot and dry last few weeks, which have also browned off a lot of the leaf tips. Sad
