I lost my first Fragrant Cloud own root...just sort of went down hill and never came back. My Second Own Root Fragrant Cloud is struggling...I have found a grafted replacement at Walmart for clearance $8...but I am wondering if Fragrant Cloud just isn't vigorous....how is yours for vigor?

I think the consensus is that Fragrant Cloud does best grafted. See the comments on HMF. I had a couple of own roots that didn't do well, but my grafted one I bought 2-3 years ago is doing great.

There was one person on HMF that said FG was much better own root, but it took 5 years...so I was hoping to poll people here.

Both of mine are grafted, but they are certainly not the most vigorous roses I grow. I think of them as sort of below average in terms of vigor.

Here is my 'Fragrant Cloud' (grafted). Not exactly what I would call vigorous.

It's in the test garden so I do monthly updates. We can all watch it's growth this year Whistling

I look forward to those updates. Her friend has a noid rose that we are Trying to identify. It's a toss up between Tropicana and fragrant cloud at the moment.
