I'm still a newbie when it comes to irises and still have a lot to learn. I have some reblooming irises that I need to move to a separate bed prepared for them. When should I transplant them? Should it be 6 weeks after spring bloom, or should I wait until it reblooms in the fall?

Also, what size pots should I be using if I want to plant MDBs and SDBs in them?

The few rebloomers that I have were shipped to me by iris nurseries in July or August, so I would have to assume that is the proper time.

Thanks, Daisy. But, If I move them at that time, won't I forfeit any chance of it blooming again this year?

Possibly, but if you move them in late autumn you may forfeit root development needed to see them safely through the winter.

I use 5L pots for most of my potted irises and scale up as needed when they grow. I water my MDBs and medians more often than my TBs and try to give them a little more shade to keep them happy.
Of course I talk to myself; sometimes I need expert advice!
