Hello, I have what I believe to be a Schlumbergera truncata, and I'm wondering what may have caused some unusual growth and if I should be conserned. Please see images attached.

TIA Louise

Hi Louise, Welcome!

The little bristles at the leaf tips of your Schlumbergeras (Schlumbergera) are perfectly normal. Your plant looks very happy and healthy.

Thank you! I was wondering why there is a sort of star shaped growth in the middle of the pictures I've posted, all the other new leaves have grown 'flat', while this one came about in an oddly 3D 'cross' shape 🤔

Possibly due to genetics, showing traits of one of it's parents. Shrug!
