I received Lydia's Regal Robe in 2017 and by 2019 it was beginning to settle in nicely. First bloom this year was on 6/23/21 in my zone 6b garden and there are still five or six buds left to bloom.

In 2018 it had 4 nice large fans and today I counted at least 10 fans, so it multiplies at a good rate. Nine scapes bloomed this year - one with 3-way branching and the rest had 2-way branching. One scape had 9 buds and the rest were lower with the lowest at 4 buds. It does have some bud-building ability which is always nice.

This year, it really showed off those beautiful dark blooms.

It is registered at 37 inches and I do believe it gets about that tall. I like it when the blooms are well above the foliage and the scapes hold them up.

My Lydia's Royal Robe was new last fall. It currently has 3 fans, each with scapes about 24" tall and blooms held well about the foliage. The branching and bud count are not as registered yet, but it is already performing very well. The purple flowers are particularly attractive, with a wide paler eye (much like Joy's photo) and the pearl edge as registered. My only criticism is that it tends to water spot from morning dew.

Yes, it is a cross of two other daylily cultivars. If you click on the link it has all the info about it.

Lydia's Regal Robe has multiplied slowly for me and won't set pods at all. The blooms are gorgeous, but bud count is only about 10 here.

I got a double fan of this in 2010. It's a beautiful saturated color. I haven't paid much attention lately but notes from the past mentioned up to 4 branches with 15 buds in my garden.

I had about 4 fans last time I looked, but that's because I've sold or traded off pieces of it many times in the last 10 years. It's really an extremely good increaser.

It''s registered as EM and started blooming here on 6/29, which would make it mid-season bloom for me.

It is fertile; I've crossed it both ways and gotten seeds; but didn't use it but a few times and don't have a record of any keeper seedlings.

A beautiful plant overall - mostly for its color.

Intense color, but limited bud count. Not terrible bud count for here, as some scapes have 9 or 10. It has many fans, so multiplication is okay.

Planted LRR in May of last year into a pot and by early July had beautiful blooms for several weeks. Off to a good start!
