I don't seem to have too much problems with mosquitoes, but it gets quite miserable with gnats. A few years ago when my brother in law lived here and I was complaining that bug spray didn't seem to work and I hated the feel of it on my skin too. He said that is why he always wears a gardening hat. I never knew he was spraying the hat instead of himself with bug spray. It really works for keeping the gnats away from my face! I've been doing that ever since. Don't know how effective it would be with mosquitoes, but you could give it a try.

I've heard that mosquitos don't like the smell of vanilla. It might be worth a try to dilute some to make a spray.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Terri, Yuk! I think I would ALMOST rather deal with mosquitoes than gnats! Those stupid little things always attack my eyes! Mosquitoes at least have a taste for my legs (although I wouldn't know why!).
