Hello! I am a relatively new daylily fan/collector. I started with 5 daylilies a few years ago and my collection has rapidly grown! I am searching for a couple of daylilies hybridized by John and Annette Rice (Daniel Boone and Jefferson Davis). They are part of a series of famous Kentuckians. I have contacted them and unfortunately they no longer have either. Also, I would love to find Kentucky Colonel which was released in 55. Unfortunately, this one has proved to be very elusive and since it is so old and the original hybridizer did so few, I have been told it may be impossible. I am a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and it would mean so much to have one in my garden. Thank you in advance for any help, tips and/or leads! I enjoy being here!

Have you contacted Thoroughbred Daylilies in KY? I found their price list from 2015 and they listed both Daniel Boone and Jefferson Davis.


Oops! Sorry, I just looked at the website for Thoroughbred Daylilies, which I should have done before posting, and now I see that The Rices are the owners and you have already contacted them.
I can't see a way to delete my original post, which I would have liked to have done before other folks had a chance to read it.
