What are your methods of propagating hardy hibiscus plants? I have had the most luck with cuttings in water. How about you?

I was just wondering about this! I don't have any experience but have heard about using cuttings.

Have you been successful in growing a mature plant yet?

Yes. It's hit and miss though. I'm hoping someone else has had great luck with more.

So far, I have used only seeds. The Holy Grail can go from seed to flowering plant in the same year. Not sure which of my hibiscus are patented or not, so slightly hesitant about asexual propagation. But, from a techniques standpoint I would love to know how to do so. So far, I am only successful with roses, and a complete failure with azaleas and rhododendrons.
Do you have a detailed protocol for hibiscus?
My go-to guy for tips on rooting cuttings is Mike Kincaid on YouTube:

But I am unsure if he has a hibiscus one.

Put cuttings in water , and place it in shade . no direct sunligt , after 2-3 weeks there will be some roots , its time to move cuttings into pots / containers , use a compost soil and keep it wet , stil in shade , when you can see roots in holes in the bottom of the pots/container , then they are ready for outdoor placement.
Its foolproof , it works everytime .

@plasko20 - could you please share your method for roses? I tried cutting from rose, two stems around half width, used root growth solution, put it in the soil with moisture containing soda bottle(half cut) but never able to propagate rose. I will try the method provided in this answer for my hardy hisbiscus.

Orion… I like kincade's you tube videos too. It's helpful to use cutting from this years growth. Not hard woody cuttings and not to soft cuttings . This is staring to sound like the three lil bears nursery rhyme.
Some plants don't do well with hormone application. Best to check first . I use home made hormone. Water infused with willow bark. Keep all cuttings in greenhouse type pot /cover to keep moisture in but also helpful to open the top to add air and not allow the greenhouse around the cutting to become soggy. It just takes a bit of practice and several cuttings. Not all will root anyway. So Thumbs up for the next cuttings.

I use a few drops of Clonet Rooting Gel (Indole 3 Butyric Acid) to my cutting in water.

Wow, I just recut and put directly in soil this time of year when I find any that
have been broken or damaged. I won't do fall cuttings on them. Guess I'll try
the cloning gel.

I have never succeeded propagating Hardy hibiscus.

This year I am using a completely different rooting method but I'll need another couple of weeks to see if I have been successful. Update if something survives.
