Hi! I've got a lot of weeds growing up from gravel paths and I need a specific tool that I can't find and might not even exist. The weeds I'm talking about are actually easy to just pull out by hand, but I really don't want to spend all days bending over as my back wouldn't appreciate that! :~) So, the sort of tool I'm looking for is something like one of those 'grabber' things that people use to extend their reach to pick small things off a shelf or off the ground. I actually have a couple of these and they are useful for picking up small branches from a patch of woods that my dog runs around in (I call these branches 'eye pokers' as I've had two dogs get scratched corneas from branches on the ground). BUT these things don't have the 'grip strength' to grab onto the weed hard enough to pull it out - the weed slips right thru the jaws. I can't use the kind of weeder you step on as it would pull up a lot of gravel along with the weed, I just need to grab the weed above the surface of the ground and pull it out. Does such a thing with a strong grip exist?? Thanks for any advice or help with this! :~) :~) :~)

Sorry, but this won't work... I need something that DOESN'T penetrate the ground, something I can grip the stalk of the weed with ABOVE the ground. BUt thanks for the reply! :~)

Sounds like you need something like giant reverse action tweezers. They open when you squeeze and grab when you release. I just don't know if something like this exists as a weed puller.

Then what you need is a trash picker, kinda like muni cleaning crews use to pick up cigarette butts, beer cans etc. Something like this for short: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000V0AGS/ (note there are longer available).

After that I am out of ideas.

A stool with wheels, you then do not have to bend to pull up the weeds---I use it, mine is just a stool without weels, and I weed in the that area, then I just move my stool to work on the next area--and just weed with your hand and fingers-
