Well, you'll notice that I took shots of the newer blooms, wide open, most blooms are lighter.

Continuing on, here are some test roses I have been eying since last year. They just are tagged with a number, either starting with 09 or 10, designating the year I guess.

This is a very unique red with yellow reverse.

This is a cutie I first saw last year, the plant is about 3 ft high and the blooms are small, maybe 2".

Here's the new 2011 intro, Dick Clark, although the recent rains spotted the blooms so I couldn't find a good clean bloom.

Thank you for the cheery Charisma picture on this dull and dreary day, Sue. It's been raining here all day without any letup.

I need a new Juliet. I love it and mine looks nothing like that one. Mine's cream-colored with a pink middle. Nice, but I like the one in your photo, which is what Rogue Valley was supposed to have sent me.

Here's mine, bearing no resemblance whatsoever to Juliet.

I still think that gorgeous little test rose must have Euphrates or Ralph Moore's Persian line in its background. I hope they release it soon. It's a stunner!

The only thing I didn't care for in that little test rose is that all the blooms were so cupped that not many showed those dark centers, I had to look for those few that were more open. It could be because of the cooler weather perhaps because I don't remember noticing that last year, will have to check my older pictures.
We haven't had any rain yet, just overcast clouds that looked like it would start at any time.

If it's due to the weather, it just reinforces their similarity to poppies, doesn't it? They look just like some of the simple varieties of poppies.
