I just purchased my first two 2022 introductions from Matt Meadows at Regal Daylilies. He posted his new intros yesterday, and I just knew I had to get them: REGAL DREAM and REGAL YOU'RE AWESOME.

Thanks Betty. I've contacted him to see if his daylilies are hardy outside where he lives (Ohio). They are mostly evergreen and it looks like he grows in pots in a greenhouse if I'm interpreting what I read correctly ... so this sadly would not work for our club northern Virginia. Also, do you know if he only gives a single fan?

Pat, I've only gotten one single fan from Matt, through the Lily Auction (he's Lilyobsession), but it was so huge that I took a picture of it: MANASOTA KEY.



This is the first time I've ordered from his website, but I did notice that he lists a double fan of REGAL SENSATION whereas most of the others are SF's, so I think it's probably based on what stock he has available at the time.

I wrote to him to inquire and he says his roots are huge. Plants are grown in the ground outside then potted and put in the greenhouse to be ready to sell. I guess this means the evergreens are hardy.

Since he does have a spray program for rust and since these are coming out of the greenhouse, do you know if they are available for fall delivery at all?

I did go look at his listings and saw that "Please ensure that the requested plant will grow in your zone. No refunds are given (past the immediate return) if a plant does not grow in your zone."

I bought three plants from Matt and I was exceedingly pleased. He gave me two small clumps of Regal Sensation. One of which I shared with a friend who is always sharing her stuff.
The other two were two fans or more. One, Solar Sweet is currently scaping after arriving this spring with cut scapes. He did showcased some of his upcoming new registration on Facebook. I will check out his site later. Buy with confidence according to your zone.
