AFTER AWHILE CROCODILE

Our east bed plows on as AAC starts the lonely trip into fall. Fortunately it doesn't have to travel alone as COMPASS ROSE is right on its heels.

We are into the Sangre de Christos mountains love ely yellow fall with fields of chamisa, billowing clouds of snake weed, goldenrod, and sunflowers preparing the way for the shimmering aspen leaves cascading down the slopes, waving goodbye to another wonderful summer in the mountains.

Genesta is the only one left blooming here. Last year I had more at this time but it's been too hot and dry for any plant to thrive.

Still bad conditions for daylilies here - many buds but perfect opened flowers are the exception - should getting warmer by the weekend.

Only Stella's Ruffled Fingers is beautiful like all the months before:

I've gotten to see about 10 or so 7 month seedlings bloom in the last two weeks. These are the only two I like. (Really happy about number 2)
