I bought seeds for mini sweet peppers (lunchbox peppers), started them inside, then transplanted them into my elevated bed in the spring. I finally just started getting some peppers. These are supposed to be red, yellow & orange ones, about 2-3" long. Do I let them stay on the plant until they turn color, or can I pick them green & put them on the window sill like a tomato to turn? This is my first try at them by seed, so I'm just happy they grew.

Best to leave them on the plant - peppers usually won't ripen once picked (although I have had it happen occasionally).

yes, ripen on plant.. peppers usually seem to shrivel up on my counter before turning color.
Plant it and they will come.

Thank You! They seem to be taking their sweet time turning color. I hope they're done before the first frost

I have one plant of 'orange bell' peppers that took forever to get any and none have turned orange yet. I think I have a good 4-6 weeks yet.
Plant it and they will come.

Update. I finally picked them & brought them inside while green because it was just getting too cold at night. I put them (3) under my grow light, 12 hrs on/off & 2 of 3 turned orange & yellow within a few days.
