Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Lies and Lipstick')

I bought Lies and Lipstick in 2019 from G Wild. I put it in the front bed but got no bloom in 2019 or 2020. In the Fall of 2020, I moved the plant closer to the front of the bed where it would get more sun and have less competition. I got three blooms out of it.

So, I wouldn't call three blooms in three years a great return. Maybe next year will be the Magic year… it's a pretty bloom when it bothers to flower

Have had this plan for 2 or 3 years. Does well.. Beautiful Bloom. Meets registered stats, would recommend.

Lies and Lipstick has been in my northern garden for 5 growing seasons. The bud count is about half of registered and shorter than the stats at about 22". However, it has increased well and the double fan from 5 years ago is now 14 fans. Considering that Kinnebrew cultivars do not all do well here, I am very happy with the performance of this one--and the bloom is always pretty.

One of my favorite Daylily, love the striking color combination and shape.

2022…Still not getting much out my LL. This year it bloomed for a super short period, July 6- 15, with 4 more blooms. It just doesn't like the spot it's in.

2023…nothing. Is it gone? Taking a break? Only time will tell…
