I just want to say that pulling echinacea seeds from a hybrid plant do not come back the same as the mother plant. So some have some types of them on their list. They will usually come back as the pink purple cultivers. Just saying. I have bid on many and they all came in as the purple ones.

That is true with so many hybrids.

I have had some that I winter sowed last winter like Rainbow marcella and Raspberry Kismet actually come back as they were supposed to. But if I end up with a yard full of echinacea that is fine too!

I believe the one I have listed was a hybrid that I also got from a seed swap last year. I was surprised it turned out so nicely (pink / red color) and bloomed well this first year.

In seed swaps, it's good to make allowances for hybrids. Echinacea might surprise you. I was pleasantly surprised.

I grew out Green Twister (hoping) from a bought plant. For me its an experiment. It came with light green tinted around petal edges, very little and green tint on thebottom. the petals were thinner and a different form. I think most of u know hybrids often dont come true to parent, but good point for new growers.

My raspberry kismet came out in shades of pow wow wildberry and my red coneflowers came out red with a few orange red. Last year I wintersow'd more including orange coneflowers and cant wait to see what I get for blooms this yr. For me, it's part of the fun of growing

Editing to say I'm not sure how this came up on my feed as I'm not in this swap, so thought I was answering a post in the Jan 2 swap!
