I planted Avian Artist in April so it hasn't been here that long. However it bloomed very nicely for a new plant, from June 13 to June 27. Not very long, or very many flowers ( 8 or 9) but I'm sure it will do better next year. The Petals do canoe forward, while the sepals curl back giving a very triangular look to the bloom. It's not a shape I love but I am a fan of having multiple styles of flower in my garden and I like the color. I think it will look much better when it clumps up.

Looks like I never gave a 2022 review so I'll combine two years here.

Avian Artist has done very well. It has grown to six fans and bloomed rather extravagantly this year, from July 6- August 4, with 36 blooms counted. There could have been a few more while I was away at the end. This plant is particularly pretty when it is opened nicely and not canoeing. I find that it is sensitive to both heat and cold and looks at its best when it is in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
