This is a serious oldie for me. Probably 20 years in the garden. This doesn't bloom for long, running from July 5th to the 20th this year ( 2021). But it's also in one of the shadiest beds in the yard and was dug up and replanted in the Fall of 2020. ( still in the same shady bed, just less weeds).
So I'm just happy it's flowering at all.
Bama Music is pretty in a pure, old fashioned style. It would be nice if it lasted longer. It looks good with other flowers too. Just never a super exciting flower.

I have had Bama Music around 15 years or more. It did well til it got crown rot. Only a couple of fans survived, and it has built back up to a small clump. A pretty, soft pink color, but I like larger flowers. I would not say it is a great bloomer, usually blooming about 3 weeks. Probably one that will be leaving because it is average bloomer and I have prettier and better plants

I have had Bama Music at least 20 years. It has grown into a very large clump. It is planted beside my verandah, and it shares that corner of the garden with several older daylily cultivars, including Luxury Lace, Catherine Woodbery and Barbara Mitchell. It also competes with clumps of shasta daisy and veronica. They put on a nice mid- summer display.

I made a banner of Bama Music and shasta daisies that was used on the NGA site in June, 2020.

This is the whole photos used for the banner.

It isn't the most showy daylily, but it is dependable, and blooms reliably in a difficult corner of the garden.

2022 update…Bama Music bloomed from July 18-29 this year with 18 blooms. Definitely not prolific but not bad for the terrible corner it's in.
