Music is very deep, especially when made by a true artist. This is why true music is one of my favorite things.

Is there already a thread on music? I searched and couldn't find one...forgive me and please tell me if there is. I was amazed that there wasn't, considering how prominent music is worldwide.

Please share the music you are listening to here!

If you like solo piano, it's worth a go. She gave up an international concert career to return to Easter Island and start a music school.

Piano is an absolute favorite on my list of genres. I'm mostly into the contemporary stuff, but certain modern music like Mattia Vlad Morleo's compositions can be very enjoyable. Here's a bit of my list for piano:

I'm also a classical music nut when it comes to symphonies. Mozart's 39th is an absolute smash hit in my book. Beethoven's 6th "Pastoral" is his least popular, but I have no idea why. It's definitely my favorite, although his 3rd comes close.

This doesn't count as deep music, but every year "Blue Christmas" by Elvis Presley is a favorite. Never gets old!

And of course, "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" as well.

Listening to "Feliz Navidad" right now, another classic.

I'll have to look into that.

Of course Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker is also being listened to over here. There's something about Tchaikovsky in general (sonatas, concertos, etc) that has just a magical feel about it. You can always tell when something is Tchaikovsky, because it is magical but also eerie.

Don't know if I'm explaining it properly, sorry. Kind of hard for me to explain how I hear it.

I'd not say I'm broadly well educated in music, but I have been exposed to some classical/orchestra,

The Senza Catene is lovely

Grieg is a favorite.
Carmen by Bizet.
and like lots of other things from this century.
Alan Parson Project, lots of 60s - 70s pop and rock, not much country

I have a few of the CDs that add nature sounds to music, one of those is Xmas and a favorite

There are so many aspects of music that I value. I love thousands of songs for almost as many reasons. Some for the lyric, some for the beat that insists that I tap my toe or get up and dance, some for bringing a tear to my eye, some for the incomprehensible genius of the composition, and then performance by an enormous band, some for being the backdrop for a fun moment in my life or in a beloved movie, some for their reverence or reminiscence of something or someone, some feel my pain, some bring me joy, some can turn a feeling of hopelessness into optimism, some tell a story, some are funny, or have a great drum solo, some will cause you to get a speeding ticket, some are only for daytime, and some require deep shadows, some can charm a crying child, and some can make grandma smile.

I don't like every performance or every song, but I like songs from every genré I've ever heard. My family agrees that if I start playing a list of songs I've "liked", they're likely to hear anything from Vivaldi to Count Basie, Charlie Daniels, Mariachi band, All American Rejects, polka, Montell Jordan, Megadeth, Bob Marley, Enya, Irish folk songs, Janis Joplin, Donna Summer, Harry Belafonte, Men Without Hats, Pink Floyd, to Taylor Swift, and beyond, possibly in that order.

Just be careful if you hear background music that sounds like a shark is about to bite you, or about to be stabbed in the shower. IDK why the people in those movies don't take it more seriously.

Rolling on the floor laughing So true about the Jaws-type music Tiffany!! Rolling on the floor laughing

Or like in horror movies how the characters as see this 'spicious-looking house and think it'd be fun to go into. Hilarious!

I agree about Vivaldi, he's one of my favorites as well. "Gloria in D Major" is probably my favorite of his, although his Four Seasons is great.

The link doesn't open on my IPad, but I know this song.
We were in Peru and Bolivia and I fell in love with Andean Music. Just gorgeous! I remember driving in a bus over the Altiplano in Bolivia, local music in my ears. There was a short rain shower and when the sun came back out, we stopped and looked around. Seeing the whole mountain chain in the distance. It really hit me how well the music fit the landscape! The real author was the Indian people, but the song itself gained worldwide fame thanks to two people.

El cóndor pasa is a song written by the Peruvian composer Daniel Robles in 1913 to the theme of traditional folk melodies of the inhabitants of the Andes. He collected and recorded folk music.

The second and, perhaps, the main popularizer of the song "El condor pasa" was the musician from the USA Paul Simon.

The song "El cóndor pasa" has been declared a national treasure and cultural heritage of Peru.

I think any folk music or author's music based on folk is close to nature. I really love and appreciate folk music from all over the world.

You are lucky to hear this beautiful music in nature, in the country where it was born. Lovey dubby
