Nice!

I have a bunch of smaller Aloes flowering:

This I just got from the bargain shelf at the most recent DBG sale. It was listed as 'hybrid African aloe' so well it could be anything. Has some Aloe vera in it, but that plant is supposed to be sterile (at the moment this one is almost done and it looks like there may be a few seed pods):

I got my tags mixed up and the plants got transplanted from my old house and the offsets got mixed up, but some of these are probably Aloe 'Cynthia Giddy' and others are Aloe 'Rooikappie':

and an unknown Aloe which I got as a cutting from Stush:

Some of these have been going for a while, but that is a characteristic of the smaller Aloes.

A canna with the aloe? I'm not sure I could manage that. I'd probably kill the aloe with too much water. I prefer to grow the few cannas in a stock trough. That keeps them wet all the time.

Yep the canna (there is a peace lilly behind it) lilly was there when we moved into the place. I did not think I was going to keep them around for long so Aloes are densely planted both on this side and the other (because shade - north side of the house), but surprisingly both the canna and the peace lilly have so far made it. The canna is a summer grower and is only still around because it has not gotten cold yet. The peace lilly dies back to the ground when the summer arrives, but the moment it starts 'cooling' down it comes back. The aloes in that area get a lot of water and they like/need it.
I have a few Agaves mixed in as well those are not quite as happy but that could be more the lack of direct sunlight than the water. I water the lillies on my regular back yard watering regime, but if it rains it gets run off from the roof and we had a good amount of rain this summer. So far this fall nothing...
