Thank you for the new thread Joanna! I'm looking forward to this year's pictures.

I was just taking pictures of flowers blooming in my garden. I didn't see the bee until I looked at the photo later. What a nice surprise!

Happy New Year everyone.

The first 2 days of this year were around 80°. There were various bees, anoles, so many birds, & other tiny garden friends having a great time. Woke up to 74° yesterday morning and to 35° today. As if the first work day of the year isn't enough without that.

So far, 2022 has been both incredibly great & terribly foul. Better buckle up fellow gardeners & life travelers, gonna b a wild ride!

Ah, southern pleasures. Here on the east coast, my car doors were frozen shut this morning. And, after driving for over an hour, there were still icicles hanging from the bottom of my car! Hilarious!

We have that happen in the South, too. We had such a bad sleet and snow storm one year in March! That my car doors were frozen shut. I didn't have a carport at the time. Snow you can brush off, sleet sticks tight.
Last February's monster storm was all snow, so it was relatively easy to remove it from where you wanted it gone. Ice storms really are the pits. Impossible to drive on or even walk on.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

I've had my share of frozen cars that I had to break into when I lived in OH. And once here in LA (lower Alabama). Kicking the door right by the lock was usually the way to do it, but new cars are so delicate, I'd be nervous about my foot going right through the door of one of these new cars.

We have finally thawed out from 6" of snow and ice. I haven't seen one flying insect or crawly. Still have the cutie pie hummers and that's it. Hoping the freeze has frozen out the yellow jackets and the hornets.

Lots of insane weather across the country. Sending the weather fairy to keep you all safe.

I just read a question in the ask a question thread from a gardener in Houston that had a blooming peach tree that actually had small fruit on it. Crazy weather, indeed!

Just finished watering the GH. Had several bees in there very much enjoying the blooms. 😁😁
