They're finally here! Two weeks, late, but at least they got here.

Great news Ann… nice the hummers are back.

The hummers over winter here and are always pushing for a hand out. No rest for the wicked … today there are 5 0r 6 of them buzzing past the feeders., tricky to refill.
They come so close in their high dive maneuvers that I feel the wing breeze as they pass by. A little too close for comfort/
I caught them before they got me… Rolling on the floor laughing

Well, I saw the first hummingbird of the year this morning. Just a couple of days before their expected return in the first week of April, so I didn't have a feeder out yet. But I have a feeder out there now! nodding

Doesn't that figure, the blooms are later than usual this year and the hummingbirds show up early. The Coral Honeysuckle is typically starting to bloom by now but it barely has any signs of growth! The plum trees are just starting to bud too, and usually in full bloom by now.

But, I'm feeling like a hummingbird, ready or not, here I come. Lovey dubby

Great pictures Bea. Thumbs up Thumbs up

Ann, maybe my hummers are there now, I haven't seen any for over a week now.

Christine, my blooms were late this year, more than likely set back from all the cold we had, my coral honeysuckle has just started blooming, and the salvias were later too. I haven't seen any hummers for the past week or more though. I had enough blooms for them all winter, but not near as many as I usually do. The butterflies are starting to show up now though.

I do have Hummers here now Sherry and have had four at least a week. I can't keep track of it at the moment. Let's suck the feeder dry though. Couple of them were fighting and having wars. But I refilled the feeder this morning and I have lots of wildflowers out in my feels that they can suck off of. They will feed in so many places. So I'm not really worried about them although I do get the guilt is like crazy. This year I've only put one feeder out and I probably will not put anymore due to some health issues that are going on with me right now so one feeder is all that I can keep up with if I can keep up with that one. But it's out my kitchen window where I can see and enjoy. And there are many other flowers yet to bloom very soon that they like to feed on.

I don't know if they are at different angles but one hummingbird looks way bigger/smaller than the other. Although, males are typically smaller than the female, the diff looks significant. Smiling

Hi Christine, Yes the hummer in front is bigger it's closer and the back hummer is smaller because it's father away and looks like they are face to face. In the pic. Just happen to catch the pic with them looking like they are fade to face.
Does that help explain the difference in sizes, also shown in the two pics below.
The hummer in the front is bigger it's closer in the pic.
Some hummers are a year old others are older and larger too. They live here all year so there are many sizes buzzing around.
