I seem to have a lot of peonies in this Form. I think it's because I love hybrid herbaceous and itohs and many of these peonies come in this form.

"Quite a range of variations are included in this designation. They have in common prominent stamens, and a bulking of the petalage, through combinations of traits: partial transformation of stamens into inner petals, multiplication of petals, or petals structure which add visual bulk to the flower."

Lemon Chiffon - the pale, delicate flowers are a small marvel and contrasts perfectly with the dark foliage

Raspberry Charm - the bloom lasted a long time and paled ever so slightly as the days went by

Coral Sunset - this variety will fade to almost white before finishing up

Another fantastic showing of blooms today! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Anya, I am loving the color of your Mary Gretchen! It is beautiful. Buckeye Belle is one of my favorite peony. Its color is such a pretty dark red and yet it seems somewhat underrated. I often get mixed up with the form of Buckeye Belle. I initially thought it was Japanese, but it is classified as a semidouble by most authoritative sites.

Top, your photos are wonderful! That is a really nice capture of a backlit LC! Your RC looks great too. Your pic is one of the reason that it was one of my favorite bloom this past season.

LG, I did not know that Coral Supreme is so full! Do you know how it does as a cut flower? I love the color of your Mikasas. I think I may be able to see this peony bloom in my garden next spring. I showed good growth this past season. Thanks very much for thinking of me.

Socal, love the deep color on your AW and the beige ivory color of your Canary Brilliants. Is this color on CB when it fades or when it first opens? I love the soft lavender highlights at the base of the petals. It produces such a beautiful effect. Do you have more pics of CB?

Thanks so much Karen! I agree we are having some really lovely photos posted!

I rarely cut my peonies, and never have cut Coral supreme. Maybe someone else has!
The registry says it is darker and fuller than Coral Charm, and for me it is.

Karen, regarding Buckeye Belle. The difference between semi-double and japanese form is that semi-double flowers have pollen and japanese flowers does not, all stamens are transformed into petaloids, thin petals.

Liz, do you think Charismatic=Rose Reverence is the best when fades? I heard people love its color. I was considering of buying since is is semi-dwarf, easier to find space for it. Id the color is not special then I can pass.

Maybe I have something mis-id'ed, mine is certainly not semi-dwarf, probably around 3' tall. I really like the faders so probably not the best judge for the darker pink flowers, TBH. I think it's a pretty flower but it's not a stand-out color to me.

Liz, did you get it from Song Sparrow, Solaris or Fina? There are not so many places where you can get it. There could be some height variations but 26" as in registry or 3' in your garden is a huge difference.

Love all your photos, Liz. I tried for years to get Cactus Jack. Song Sparrow offered it their last year, but with the number of mis-ID's from them on that last order I will be surprised if it is true to name. Grumbling

Love all your semi-doubles, Liz! I hope to see more of them in the future esp. the NOID and Coral Beauty when they bloom in your AL garden. The reason is that I grow none of the above except for Anne Oveson.

Thanks LG, Socal, and Anya for your responses. Anya, thanks for pointing out the distinction! That is really helpful!

'Pink Hawaiian Coral' has always been near and dear to my heart. I first saw it blooming many years ago at Roger Anderson's Farm. It was too expensive for me to buy that year. A few years later I was able to snag it.

'Charismatic' another in the coral hues that has a gorgeous color and form. The camera doesn't quite capture its true beauty. Came to me as a small start from a friend, a late freeze held it back, but it has grown up now. It isn't that fastest grower with all of the setbacks, but a treasure for sure.

Anya, I got Charasmatic from Fina in 2014, got Rose Reverence in 2018 from Klehms not realizing they might be the same plant. Rose Reverence is in the weed bed in AL, Charasmatic should be in one of the first 2 rows around the garden cottage. I couldn't tell you if they were the same, even those that I knew for sure were dups came up and bloomed at least 2 weeks later in the bed Rose Reverence was in as it was more shaded all winter, stayed snow covered and cold much longer because of the huge pines shading it all winter.
Tracey, your Charasmatic has a much better fresh color than mine! Mine was just a fairly boring medium to slightly dark pink before fading to something pretty. Would not be surprised to find out it is not what it's supposed to be.
