Hello!

I see many of you have been busy posting lots of seeds! I'm very excited for Wednesday and I hope you all are too.

I have a few updates for you all:

First of all, I know it's been a quick turnaround from announcing the swap to the start date, so please don't stress if you haven't entered in all of your seeds. Just do your best! We already have a great selection and I know it will only grow over the next few days.

Anyone who is signed up and has zero seeds listed should receive a Tree-mail from me today. If you haven't had time to do it but intend to in the next few days, that's okay! Just keep me posted on what is going on. Don't have seeds to share? You're still welcome to participate! Just fill me in and we'll get you set up.

At this point, the multiplier is set at 3. On Tuesday night (Feb 8) I'll look at where we are seed-wise and make any last-minute adjustments to the multiplier.

I've had to increase the swap fee from $9 to $10 as the USPS has increased their rates for flat rate shipping. I should have looked earlier, so I'm sorry for the last-minute change!

I've received questions about electronic payment, so I wanted to let everyone know the answer— YES! I can accept either cash, PayPal or Venmo (no checks please).

My PayPal is jessica.hruby (at) gmail.com. My Venmo is @JessicaHruby. If you're paying electronically, please pay as a friend and include your screen name in the notes. I don't need the $$ until it's time to send packages back to you, so there is no hurry!

If you have any questions about the swap or suggestions for me, please post here or send me a Tree-mail. I want this to be a fun few days for all of us! Hurray!

Looking forward to Wednesday,

Jess

Thanks to @vma4922 for tipping me off about Pirate Ship! I'll be able to keep the fee at $9 since they offer lower rates. Val, you're the best. Hurray!

Gentle reminder: Please put your address in your profile or send me a Tree-mail. I want to be sure I can get this bounty back to each of you!

Hello plant. How are you today?
This is my first swap so maybe this is a dumb question but when is the deadline to enter seeds? Can you keep entering as swap goes on?
Keep growing!

No question is dumb! Glad you are joining in! You will be hooked after the swap is over lol
Each swap has different rules but I have not seen any swap rules saying you cannot add after a certain date. I have been I'm several swaps where people add more seeds in while trading is underway.

I agree Hi, Nancy, so glad you joined the swap! No dumb questions.

I'm not sure what the rules will be in this swap either but in past swaps, I've often added more packets of seeds during a swap, especially if it's something popular that gets dibbed right away and I want to add more of that item. Smiling

Edit to say although the system will allow you to add items once the swap begins, I don't think it will allow you to take items out of the swap, even if you delete the item (after the swap has started); if someone has dibbed that item, it will still show up on your "send list".

Olivia and Christine are correct on all counts! No stupid questions. And yes, you can enter seeds throughout the entire swap.

Just one more day... Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

The only problem with adding new/more seeds is if it's not a seed you have more quantity of and it's a new variety, it sometimes gets lost and people dont realize. Alot of members use the "view recent events" to see new items that have been added, but once bidding starts you've got 19 or more participants bidding and showing up as recent events and some new listings might get lost.

I use the "exclude dibs" link so I just see what's been added.

I missed so many things in the last swap just looking at recent events.

I'll be spending some time today going through each individual's list so I don't miss things like the last time. I also like looking through individual lists because I can clearly see how many seeds are in each packet and when they were collected. This information you do not see when you only look at recent events.

I did see what I think is probably a mistake on someone's list it was in the A's because I didn't make it beyond that last night. I saw a listing of cleome with two offers of five seeds per offer. I'm going to guess that was supposed to be 25 or maybe even 50. So if you are screen name begins with an a, you may want to check that. Grin I would check now but I must go...

I was looking last night for something specific and I did notice that there are people of course offering the same type of seeds. There would be one that had five wish listed and the other only with one wish listed. even though it's the same. If there is something that more than one player has listed that I would like to try and grow I check it off of both and then remove the second one if I get the first one. Make sense?

I'm going to try and get a few of my newly acquired seeds listed before the start of the swap tonight.

Happy dibbing to all!

I think I'm finished listing. I couldn't find my glasses and I've been typing blind. My apologies for uncorrected typos. Turns out I left them at a Dr.'s office. They offered to mail them but I'm going to get them now. I need my eagle eyes to study these lists. Hilarious!

I use my unpublished blogs to store lists, keep organized and manage seed-trading events and anything garden-related.

But now, when I click on "edit" to access one of my blogs, the cursor remains just an arrow; that is, the hand that appears when a link is active does not appear. Has anyone noticed any problem with accessing their blogs through the Control Panel for atp blogs?

I just emailed an SOS to @Dave.

Being able to track what I do on a seed swap - in this case - via my atp unpublished blogs - is a huge help to packing, labeling and listing seeds. Unfortunately, I only decided to join this swap yesterday.

I'll put something together by 7pm this evening, but I'd be able to list a lot more seeds over the next few days if my blog-accessing problem could be alleviated.

I've tried closing down all tabs and then shutting down 'Pooter - doesn't seem to make a difference.

It's sure looking like an exciting swap 😀 "IF " I manage to get to it I know I have a few more things I can add. Life has just been crazy busy with two little ones an a hubby with back/hip pain issues so I'm not listing things till I have them packaged that way I know they'll get out the door on time.

Dave found that, for him, the cursor when hovered over a hyperlink to a blog turns to a hand and that, for him, blog links work fine. He suggested rebooting. If I can get my blogs to open, he wants to know.

I'm having some other unanticipated difficulties, so I am very sorry to withdraw from this swap at this time.

Overall I'm fine and order all of you to have fun and be well and take care of yourselves. May the Force by with our Trowels Smiling

This is the first swap since the site upgrade. Dave has tested the swap programming comprehensively and is pretty confident everything will go smoothly.

If you do run into issues, please either post it here and tag @dave. That way he can address the problem and others can see that it's been reported so he doesn't get inundated with individual Tree-mails. I tip my hat to you.

We're just a few hours away! Hurray!
