Pliers for Your Garden

By weeds

Use regular pliers to pull weeds that have long tap roots, especially sticky ones like briars. Put the nose of the pliers right at ground level to grab the weeds. I find them very good to pull the many baby oak trees that fill my garden each year.

Thread OP

I'd take the oaks and the Texas dandelions off your hands, lol. But, on the serious side, thank you so much for the fantastic idea!
I've never thought about using pliers for stubborn roots...great thinking! Hurray!

Oaks ~ grrr... My fingers always slip and pull the set of leaves off.
I need to find the pliers and later I'll need someone to help me get up off my knees. lol
Thanks for another useful tip.

I use pliers also. It helps if the soil is nice and moist.
