I have never seen a Towhee, but one of the strangest things I've seen is Mockingbird feeding behavior. They land on the grass then they extend their wings in this odd, sort of mechanical jerky motion, then pause and pounce. I assume the wing movement is to scare up bugs...it's pretty weird!
