Ok so lately I've been obsessed with hanging/vining house plants, I think they're so beautiful and I particularly love collecting all sorts of different plants so what are some suggestions/ some of y'all's favorites because I'm in the mood to do some online plant shopping lol I am however awful with plants that need to have consistently moist soil because I can't keep up with them but otherwise what are some vining / hanging plants yall suggest? Smiling
Ps. so what I've already got is neon philodendron, philodendron micans, philodendron brasil, heart leaf philodendron, Swiss cheese plant, satin Pothos, treubii moonlight, golden Pothos, marble Queen Pothos, N joy Pothos. Baltic and cebu blue Pothos, and a funky frog beetle peperomia!

You could get an epiphyllum, tropical vining cacti. You could also check out the rhipsalis or the holiday cacti, Schlumbergera. All of these actually prefer a bit of neglect.

Jasmine might also be a nice addition. Trachelosperma jasminioides, vining Star Jasmine, can be a bit large, though. Something called Asiatic Jasmine is used as a ground cover here, but it works nicely as a hanging/vining plant and it doesn't mind some bright indoor conditions. There's even variegated versions.

You might also like Hoya. Some varieties need consistently moist soil and others prefer more neglect. Krimson Princess is an easy plant and it has absolutely beautiful leaves. It also doesn't mind a bit of neglect and cuttings root ridiculously easy.
I have found that coffee, tea, and rose can all agree on one thing... water everyday.

Ooooh I really like your suggestions! I just heard someone else suggest keeping jasmine indoors for how nice it smells and I love the look of that asiatic jasmine! Do you think it'd do alright either directly in front of a north facing window or under a grow light maybe? And I have also been interested in Hoyas but just don't really know anything about they're care so that's good to know about the Krimson princess, and I definitely agree on the cuttings rooting well, I've got a single cutting from a hoya pubicalyx splash growing in my aquarium that's been doing pretty well! Thanks for the suggestions! Smiling

If you have some available spots near bright windows, there are a bunch of "string of" plants:
https://garden.org/thread/go/1...

Some lovely Plectranthus do well as dangling entities:
Cuban Oregano (Coleus amboinicus)
Plectranthus (Plectranthus forsteri)
Swedish Ivy (Plectranthus verticillatus)

So many members of the Commelinaceae family, which includes Callisia and Tradescantia.
Inch Plant (Tradescantia cerinthoides)
Inch Plant (Tradescantia zebrina)
Speedy Jenny (Tradescantia chrysophylla 'Baby Bunny Bellies')
Striped Inch Plant (Callisia gentlei var. elegans)
Basket Plant (Callisia fragrans)

This would prefer a spot right by a sunny window:
Trailing Jade (Kleinia petraea)
and creeping fig:

Want to try something different? Orchid cactus (Epiphyllum) make spectacular hanging baskets. If you have a shady spot outdoors, it could be on the patio or porch most of the year in your area. They'd just have to come in if you get a freeze.
These are tropical cactus, not the desert kind. I suggest taking a look at them, the flowers are the best.

I vote for Hoya, too.
I water once a week. They do well in east sun exposure. I fertilize once in late winter. This is a 10 year old plant.

Kathy, that's gorgeous! Is that tiny pot at the bottom the origin of all of that growth?

Yes that's a SUPER GOOD choice! The "dancing" flowers are super fancy when theres a light breeze. That plant is sure to bring beautiful blooms and fuzzy lush foilage to any window or home!!

I love the idea of growing jasmine indoors but from experience I find that plats lose there scent when grown indoors, I would like to have lots of hanging plants in my house but here in the UK its not as sunny and home lacks in natural light. I have Pothos and spider plants.

Another plant that may work is Maranta leuconeura var. erythroneura.

Yes, Tiffany, that small pot supported all the vines. I learned one good fact about Hoya, they do best potbound. It was so confined that I waited until it split the seams of the metal container, then I repotted to 2" bigger pot. It was a blooming fool 9 out of 12 months a year, too.
