You know I don't like hot weather, but cold doesn't exactly rock my world, either. This is how I like my snow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?... It is 2 1/2 minutes, but you'll get the point in 15 seconds. It needs a different song, but the rhythm works for me.

This is Gurdeep Pandher, a Canadian, he lives in Yukon, BC, he always has an uplifting message which we all need these days. He started giving easy lessons on the dance moves, I would love to be able to exercise this way, but with my back and feet it is impossible.

Lesson #1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

If you would like more lessons you can Google, or I could find them and post.

I'm watching the lesson and first thinking how can stand so still on one foot for such a long time...my one footed balance just isn't great. Haha, he seems like a very cheerful person! Cute.
Plant it and they will come.

Sally, the more you practice balancing, the better it gets. For the past couple of years, I've been strengthening stabilizing muscles by standing on one foot or the other, first for just 15-30 seconds, and now I can manage over a minute. I've also been told by my doctor that there was a study a year or so ago showing that standing on one foot or the other for a minute each day decreases the risk of osteoporosis fractures significantly (20% I think?).

So, how do I remember to do that a couple times a day? Well, I have another bad habit -- I put a cup of coffee or tea in the microwave for just a minute, then get distracted / interrupted and leave it there to get cold again. Now, when I have something heating in the microwave for a minute or so, I stand there and work on my 1-footed balance! As a bonus, I can catch myself by grabbing the edge of the counter if I really lose it.

If I'm really ambitious, I throw in a few sets of "I's, Y's, and T's" with my arms... yes, while standing on one foot.
We're all learners, doers, teachers.

I think he is in great shape from all that dancing. Hilarious! He is a truck driver, and owns a farm. I would like to have him as a friend, he is so upbeat.

Yeah, I am trying to build good minutes into my day with things like a few lunges or squats. I can easily do balance practice while at the desk at work. Thumbs up Thumbs up

Took our Sunday walk at a different park today facing the Bay and got a great view of this ship:

It is! We went to the park, not knowing if we would see the ship, but it's RIGHT THERE! I'll post my pic later.

We watched a Bollywood movie a few weeks ago. The music grew on me, and this song got stuck in my head for a few days. it makes you (me at least) want to dance

I like watching Bollywood dance, they do that on the 'so you think you can dance' show, the music is very infectious.

That ship is massive. We see them in the ocean sometimes when we go hiking but there is nothing to scale them to.

One time we were down at Port Hueneme and there was a car carrier at the dock. It wasn't as big as those container ships. The name of the ship was Phoenix Leader and every once is a while we see where it is via the web site marinetraffic.com. It goes through the Panama Canal every couple months and goes to Asia.

I dont know if you sense the scale. We were close enough to very easily read Evergreen from shore.

I read or heard somewhere how many containers those ships hold and it was in the thousands. I forget the exact number but it was astounding. Some of those shipping ships will take passengers. DH was looking at YouTube videos about it, not that we are going to do that, but he found the idea interesting. Of course there is a limited amount of entertainment but everyone says the food is good. The one I saw part of, the guy had a room with a bed, couch, desk, closet for his stuff, and plenty of room to move around. It was plain like a dorm room but he found the furniture comfortable enough. He had his own bathroom, but he had to clean it himself during the trip. He was going to be there a long time, like a month. I guess if you just want to get away and clear your head or work on a novel, that would work. It definitely wasn't exciting.

I have heard of that too- traveling as an extra body so to speak. Thinking

The stuck ship here has 'more than 4,900' containers. The biggest to date is also owned by Evergreen and carries 23,900 Plus! https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-en....

Same company that got a ship stuck in the Suez Canal a couple of years back, I think. Those ships are indeed massive. We saw a number of them as we entered the Panama Canal on my cruise a few years ago. They go through the new, wider channel of the canal.

We were in the old locks and you can see one of them in the new locks.

Still doing aquafit but my regular pool starts offering it tomorrow. I won't go there until Friday as the instructor is very good tomorrow where I have been going.
