I'm looking for daylilies that have flowers that are always double.

I am also looking for those daylilies that are registered as being doubles but that nearly never have any double flowers.

If you grow double daylilies that fit into either one of those groups could I please have their names.

Pretty sure John Kirkland, Savannah Debutant, and Gemini Jack have always bloomed double for me. At least, I don't remember ever blooming in single form. Probably not what you are asking for, but Sometimes Never is listed as blooming as a double only on rebloom. It has only had 1 double in the 2 seasons I had it.

I don't have this plant, but look at what Tim Herrington says on his website about Scented Sensibility:

"It is a magenta rose red 100% double tetraploid with darker veining and dark purple eye and green yellow throat."

Now look at the picture in the database:

I had occasional singles on Savannah Debutant so I would not describe that one as always double.

I don't have too many doubles, but I've had Nell Dean for years and it has always been a double bloom.

Coffee Frenzy is listed as double but I only had one double bloom last season.

Always double; Condilla, Greywoods Dottie Dolittle, Micro Wave, Peach Magnolia, Pink Pompon, Sweet as Can Be, Unlock the Stars

Siloam Double Classic throws a few singles early on, then nothing but perfect doubles

Occasionally double; Double Tulip, maybe 50% of the time or less.

An unexpected double was Blue Racer, which threw a double flower last summer, although listed as a single bloom

I have many doubles planted last year that I haven't seen in action yet.

I agree about Condilla and Peach Magnolia. They have always been double. Jean Swann and Pink Peppermint have always double for me too.

'Condilla', 'Jo Barbre', 'Dublin Elaine', 'Double Old Ivory' and possibly 'Shamrock Double Grape' are ones I don't recall seeing a single on. Edited to add 'Scatterbrain'.

I do have some nice doubles (ordered a few more for this year). Always double... Big Kiss, Dorothy and Toto, Double Intrigue, Kwanso, I Suppose, Infinity, Merry Morgan ... while Merry Morgan is not reliably polymerous, has been reliably double. Peggy Jeffcoat (on order for this spring) - in the display garden - showed nothing but double blooms... would ask some of you who have grown her longer - does she ever not have doubles?

More "always double" - Silent Thunder, Siloam Double Classic, Spotted Fever, Unlock the Stars and Yellow Bouquet (which also produces polys every year).

I don't have any 'doubles' that have never doubled, though I do have a few that throw single blooms... Dewy Sweet, Exotic Etching (listed as double 90% should be listed more like, double 40% ... maybe), Flamenco Christmas, Night Embers, Schnickel Fritz --- Lovey dubby absolutely love Lovey dubby this one... it not only is 'nearly always' double, it also produces polys ... including a single-form poly. Not 100% double, but absolutely gorgeous.

Lastly, Flore Pleno is triple... but once in a while, will have a double among the rest of the blooms.
Life is what happens while you are making other plans.

Micro Dots [TX] has always doubled for me as has Big Kiss in the two years I have had it. Siloam Double Classic does throw a few single blooms early here. A dark red diploid seedling of unknown parentage also blooms consistently double here.
Edit: Siloam Cooper's Chantilly is also always double when blooming here

I don't have many doubles. Siloam Double Classic for me (typically, apparently) throws a single or two at the beginning of its bloom season and then doubles from that point on. Condilla is always double.

I have Peggy Jeffcoat, Prester John, and Royal Eventide but am still waiting for the first blooms on those. I also have Nell Dean coming this spring, so I will be able to report back on that one as well.

Condilla and Peggy Jeffcoat never had a single flower within more than 10 years - Madge Cayse and Pursuit of pleasure I have about five years and they do the same. Lacy Doily, Burgundy Love and Raspberry Ripple Cupcake are the newest doubles here (3 years), they never show single flowers too.

I've grown Dutch Yellow Truffle twice as it is a bit winter tender here, and I lost it once. It was always double (including last year):

Thumb of 2022-03-29/Maryl/907088

I've grown No Way Jose for several years and it's always been double:

Thumb of 2022-03-29/Maryl/0351e6

I also grew Blue Pearl which isn't supposed to be double but was fully double the first year it bloomed. The second year it bloomed as a single. This winter it died. Go figure.............Maryl

I should add the historic 'Double Talk' [Wheeler, 1966] has also always bloomed double here.

Totally Awesome, does anyone grow that? I had it, and it never really was vigorous increaser at all and hardly bloomed, just here and there. The blooms are gorgeous, but the performance was poor. Now as a disclaimer, my dirt is bad, deer eat stuff, I don't water or fertilize regularly, ect. But my other dayliles seem to do fine and increase well ect w no issues. Now it seems I have killed the delicate little thing altogether as I forgot to move it out of a construction area and I think it's dead. Maybe I won't replace it? Double every time, thick fleshy blooms that are fragrant. Never got 28" as it is registered, more like 18 for me. It is an evergreen, maybe that is the issue since I am zone 5/6. I am right on the border for zone, so I go w zone 5 even though according to the map I am barely over to the 6.

The few doubles I grow have all been consistently double over the many years I've grown them. They are:
Night Embers, Moses' Fire, Zada Mae, Land of Cotton, Holiday Party, Scatterbrain and Delta's Dream.
