Yesterday as I was doing some outside chores, it occured to me that there might be some scapes showing on Tribal Council as it is usually our first daylily to bloom. Sure enough, there are three now.

I checked our other early bloomers, Stella's Sparky, Blackeyed Stella, and Miss Victoria, none of them are showing any scapes yet, but I know it won't be long now.

Yay, Avedon! It is so exciting to see those first scapes!

So far, I have scapes on Bitsy, Royal Eventide, Omomuki, Going Bananas, Siloam Double Classic, Pumpkin Kid, Wings of Chance, and Jedi Brenda Spann. All are new-to-my-garden plants except SDC. I think Royal Eventide will be the first to bloom--some of the buds are turning purple.

Larry is waaaaaay ahead of me, though, with scapes.

Thanks, everybody, know we are all excited with a new season getting started. Wouldn't you know, the April cold snap will hit tomorrow night, we might get down to freezing, but it should only be for the one night. I'll just throw a sheet over Tribal Council to protect the scapes and it should be fine.

Didn't freeze here so my unbloomed seedling scapes will survive this round😅

Saw scapes today on one of my favorites, Victorian Princess.

I had a nice day of scape sighting as well, especially finally on seedings. I try not to have to, but did pull out the round up today. Things had just gotten far past tooooo much.

I've had good luck using 30% white vinegar mixed with a little dishwashing liquid and table salt. I've killed even poison ivy after a couple of applications. For ordinary weeds it works pretty well.

A scape on Paper Butterfly, hope it looks better than the first ever blooms from last year. Also a surprise scape on Bitsy, just planted it on March 4.

Yay! I was hoping your Bitsy would bloom, Alma. I don't remember exactly when I got mine last spring, but it must have been later than this.

I am expecting to get Paper Butterfly later in April.

Found another scape on Jedi Brenda Spann. I am very impressed with this plant--it's very new. I received it March 5. In fact it was in a pot until today. I found the second scape while planting it in the bed.

Also found a scape on Dynamite Returns, which did not bloom at all last year. I moved it to a planter, and it grew another fan and now has added a scape, so I guess it likes its new digs.
