I bought this one because it was a child plant of one of my all-time favorites, Blueberry Candy, which did beautifully for me and produced lots of lovely blooms until it fell victim to my big rust outbreak of 2021. Rainbow Candy had a similar look in pictures and had an excellent rust resistance rating of 1.0.
So far it has done well, although I haven't had it long. I planted it (a tiny DF) in fall of 2021 in the same spot where Blueberry Candy had been. It hasn't bloomed yet, and I will come back and report when it does, But it has increased by a fan, and the fans are now large and healthy--no signs of rust yet! One other interesting detail--it's supposed to be a dormant, and Blueberry Candy was. However, Rainbow Candy stayed green all winter, its first here. Will see whether that pattern continues.
I actually looked up its other parent, Little Print, which also has a rust resistance rating of 1.0, and I bought that one, too.
May 13: Rainbow Candy has bloomed for me. Here's a shot where you can see the buds:
And here's a good bloom shot:
It meets the bloom specs; in fact I would say the bloom is a little larger than 4.75".
