I have two bay trees both about ten years old. They are either side of my front door only about five feet apart.
They are both getting the same weather conditions yet while one flourishe the other one has gone brown.
How can I get it back into condition

Hello, Mossleyone: Since they have been there for such a long time they both may be root bound. The bay tree can grow to 60 ft. After 10 years they may need a bigger container.

I second what Andrea said. Mine got to be 8' iin just 5 years planted in-ground. These are BIG trees not so well suited to opot growing after the first few years. Bigger pots would help if you have a spot in your yard to plant them in the ground, then start two younger, smaller specimens for the entryway pots.
