Name of this mushroom/toadstool? Poisonous??

Is this a joke?

its called a "roofing nail" mushroom ...comes in assorted colors

the outer part is edible - add salt & pepper to taste ..... but watch-out for that center portion it is deadly and will cause a choking death in less than 3 minutes

Its a roofing nail .... @cwhitt ....have you had any tornadoes, or winds strong enough to take off roofs ? or ...see a lot of blue tarps on peoples roofs ?

these roofing nails are used to lay a tarp over a damaged roof ....

the way they work ...above the roof damage ...have to lift an entire row of shingles so the tarp can slide underneath the shingles ...by lifting a shingle upwards - you would hammer 1 of these roofing nails through tarp, into roof ... repeat until the entire top edge of tarp is secured to the roof

the round blue thing is suppose to self-seal any leaks.....

Thank you @deepsouth. Never saw one before. We had a bit of wind, but no tarps on anyone's roof. I wonder where it came from.

You're looking at a head of a nail that is driven through a plastic washer, and into the ground.

That's funny I have found some of those around.
They don't taste very good.

I thought so!!! But I was prepared to believe it was a mushroom instead…a very, very strange one at that that sort of looks like a bolt! I'm very gullible at times
