I bought this last year, 2021, I can't say much about it yet. It is starting to poke thru the mulch this spring, so it made it thru the winter. Hopefully I can report more later this year.

I have not had Easter Egg in the gardens for very long, either; but I can say that it's been here now for several seasons so I do believe that it's cold-hardy for northern climates. I also believe it reaches its full (listed) height of 30-inch scapes, as it stood out well among the nearby coneflowers.

That said, I have not (yet) seen it living up to its description, insofar as bloom pattern / colour... while it does boast a gorgeous ruffled edge in a very pretty lilac / lavender, the secondary 'gold' edge has not stood out very well (not distinctively).

To be fair, zone 3: some plants do take more than a season or two to come into their own and show their full potential, so I am looking forward to seeing what it does this year. And, like many daylilies in my gardens, it did boast (2) polymerous blooms last summer, so I do appreciate the quirkiness.
Life is what happens while you are making other plans.

I grow Easter Egg since 2018 and I can't tell you much about the hardiness because it's in a large pot and gets winter protection. I do not like the very ruffled ones very much but this one I saw flowering in a friend's garden in Italy and there it was extremly beautiful and distinctive - so I got me a piece of it.

If you look at the pictures you only see a big ruffled flower - if you see it in a garden (depending on light conditions, especially in the morning) you can see a bluish neon-like hue on the lavender violet colored parts of the flower. This is a quite rare trait that I like very much (I have only two other cultivars that show similar effects).

I've taken many pictures to catch this effect - this ist the best, even if the flower is not the best I've ever seen on this plant

Very pretty flower, have had for several yrs. Slow to multiply. Will hang up on occasion. Colors are good, height, bloom size, meet stats. Bud count may be a little low.
Beautiful plant to have in your garden. Smiling Thumbs up
