Just yesterday I was clearing out my flower garden and I noticed my two rhododendrons base ball was packed solid. Each year I make it a habit of loosening the soil around all the many plants and feeding at the same time with Osomote. However this year the ball of the Rhodos were hardly penetrable. I loosened the soil around the base and watered thoroughly.
Should I be concerned about such?
