Just built two of these cold frames from some old recycled material I had laying around. They measure 2feet by 4 feet. Gonna try them out this weekend probably for some spinach, broccoli, cabbage , onion.
I have lots more windows and sliding doors. If I have good luck,I'll be a large one or two for over winter greens:) Seasons are too short here in Maine!!!!Thumb of 2013-04-03/Tom/6afeca

yah, these are small ones to help get the hardier seedlings out of the house Big Grin I plan on making larger ones with the sliding glass doors for my winter crop. I'll fill the big ones with compost and manure, to get a nice crop of spinach, mache, carrots and onions....n maybe some other things too Smiling My family has been complaining all winter about not having any salad from the garden Sad
today it was 60*F out veggie gardening is around the corner!!!!!! Hurray!

I always loved having a cold frame to get a jump on things. I always wanted automatic openers though, I would forget a lot to open them. Good thing my DH was retired so he could do it for me. Hilarious!
