PUSSYTOES once again, this little tyke came in first by one length ahead of Shindig, and the race is still on for third place. Hilarious!

I almost missed seeing this little one, I had been checking on it often, but no signs of any bloom, and then coming from behind on Sunday night there they were. Shindig opened yesterday, and I have a few others showing color now. Temps are up, will be in the 90's later this week, so I think things will be popping soon here in cheese land. Smiling

Thanks, it's sure nice to see some bloom after this long and late spring, and with the high temps I'm thinking things will move along fast. I'm way behind in weeding, as the weather just didn't let me have a lot of good working time. Now with the addition of lawn maintenance, there's even less time. Oh well, guess you'll have to look at some weeds with the flowers this year. Rolling my eyes.

Nice start to your season Tom! Hurray!

Fortunately, it takes some pretty aggressive weeds to crowd out an established iris clump (...or so I'm told... Whistling Big Grin )
Of course I talk to myself; sometimes I need expert advice!

Thanks Leslie, I wish it had better form, but it is cute anyway. I have a lot of buds coming, this hot weather is making things move along. I expect a bunch to open soon. Hurray!

I have several that have opened today, but in this heat, they don't fully open, the falls just stay curled up. Guess I'll have to wait for later blooms when it's cooler out. Sighing!

Between the heat, and the wind...the blooms here are not lasting even a day, and, as you say, are "drying out", instead of "opening up" Sad

I did get a few pictures early this morning as the temps were in the 60, so they weren't shriveled up.

Thanks Elsa, and they are very good growers too. Smiling I see, by flash light while I took my dog out, that there are a lot more open this morning. The severe storms that were heading my way last night took a different route, and we only got a few sprinkles. So I should have more pictures to take today.

The irises exploded overnight. I went out just before the sun came up and took some pictures, some didn't turn out so I went out again after horse chores and took some in the bright sun.

First up is Alaia, boy what a bright beard. I sure love this one, and it's a good grower here as well

I had taken more pictures, but some didn't turn out. I'll have to retake a bunch. I also have many TB's that have started to put up stalks overnight. I can't believe how fast that happened. Most of them are near the house, but some are farther out too. One is showing color already. I better get busy and get the rest of the beds cleaned up before I start breaking stalks.

Tom, I think your first three there are my favorites, but all are pretty. I got Bluebeard's ghost from a forum friend last summer, but will need to wait another year for it to bloom. I can hardly wait.

Bluebeard's Ghost is blooming along with my first TB. Wouldn't that be considered late for an SDB?
