You know that Pseudacorus is NOT what you and your lawyer do when you don't like the music!

You name your new seedlings for your cats. Or, if you name your new cats after your irises.

You let your dawgs do the digging for your next iris bed. If you don't have dawgs, you might still be infected if you plant your new iris beds inside old truck tires in the middle of your yard because you're running out of space.

The flags in your front yard all have petals...

You're pregnant, but you spend more time thinking of names for your new iris seedlings than you do for your new baby.

You smell grape Kool-Aid and immediately think, "Iris pallida!"

Your bathroom reading material is the latest Schreiner's catalog.

Any other symptoms?

You buy 50 or more irises with no place to put them other than pots...
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Again... her case of Iris Virus ain't that bad. If it were, she would have used that money to buy more irises. After all, one can only rescue so many heaved rhizomes from neighbors' gardens. I'm just sayin'... 😆

Question: How many heaved rhizomes can someone rescue before it becomes a felony? Asking for a friend.

Daffodils, Gladiolus, Cannas, Tulips, and especially annuals that clump; start mysteriously disappearing as you run out of Iris space. Not to mention Trees, Bushes and Lush Lawn. And you don't even miss them!!! Really sick I know!!!

You plant out 50+ irises every year, but still have a substantial pot ghetto.

You end up with more iris seeds than you'll ever be able to grow to maturity, because you just had to try to make one more cross...

You can actually tell the difference between your 30+ purple irises. D'Oh! Big Grin

I have this problem with all the genera I tinker with - Irises, Liliums and Cymbidiums.

I recently had a phone call from the HOA asking me why I removed the bushes around my house to plant these irises. Now I have to plant nasty bushes to make them happy.

I want my irises everywhere Angry

My husband had to draw a scheme of the house with the plan for the new nasty bushes and basically begging them to let me grow my irises in peace!

I hate HOA intrusion.

As much as I love my TBs, I don't want them out front, because the foliage does get ratty after bloom. SDBs might be a different matter. Dirt's curb planting of SDBs is wonderful.
