This seems timely as I have posted several pictures of Whatchamacallit recently. I obtained my plant in the summer of 2020. I got it because of its reputation as a prolific bloomer. In 2021 it was thriving, full of scapes and buds, and I was looking forward to a big show from the plant. Unfortunately I had planted it in a new bed next to my driveway, and I backed over it one day. All the scapes fell off the plant. It lived but did not bloom that year, much to my disappointment.

It has completely recovered this year (2022), has developed into a nice clump, and is covered with blooms. Will report back later about how long it blooms. As for rust, it got a little last summer but not much, and when I trimmed the rusty leaves, that was the end of it. I hope it continues to be rust-resistant because I love the plant. I have been very careful backing out of the driveway since the mishap last spring!

The flowers are small, maybe 3.5 inches, bright orange, and uniformly perfect. This is a great garden plant.
