I purchased a young rose bush 3 years ago.
It was a wonderful rose bush giving me a full bush in late June and another in August.I thought that it had died when I uncovered it this spring. Now I see a couple of new leaves sprouting from the bottom
of the main stalk. What should I do now?Should I cut it right down to
where the leaves have started to grow. There does not seem to be any other growth on the bush.

Cut back the dead canes little by little, checking for signs of life as you go. You will want to leave as much living material as possible. Keep it adequately watered and, perhaps mulch it with some compost. Then just watch to see how it does. Good luck!
