Can someone identify this vine that I saw growing near the east side of the Susquehanna River at Safe Harbor on June 10, 2022?

Clumps can be much larger than this one, which is about 5 ft in diameter:

My plant ID says it is Japanese hop an invasive vine with spiny stems.
