That sounds reasonable, but if it's not happy, something else is wrong. I'm not sure what to suggest without seeing your plant. Do you know what kind of Hibiscus it is? There are so many different ones. Is it in a pot or in the ground?

Have had plants about 2 months. Have not fertilized. Water about every 2 days. They get a lot of sun & I have always had them in these same locations over the years with no problems. Appreciate the help!

Might not be the answer, but my hibiscus were doing the same thing. I gave each one two tablespoons of hibiscus food and within a week they had stopped producing yellow leaves. Mine are grown in five gallon pots so the time-released fertilizer worked great.
