When does night blooming Cereus bloom? in the Epiphyllums forum

I know this sounds like a dumb ?

Since night blooming cereus bloom at night!

I'm wondering if I should keep checking
the 2 cereus blooms tonight?

The article says they usually bloom about 11 pm.
I can stay awake and monitor them!

I'm hoping they bloom tonight!

(or can the blooms stay on plant for day or 2,
so they may not bloom until tomorrow night?)

@hiyall 11:00pm to 2:00 am is the best because the blooms are fully open.

If it has not bloomed yet post a photo tomorrow and I can pretty much tell if it will open that night. Normally if partially opens when the sun goes down then for sure it will bloom.

Unfortunately the bloom only lasts a day. You can catch it open before the sun is up.

Hope camera keeps working since it, and me, have low memory!

I'm not best photographer,
Especially at night!

Just went out and shot pic,
Unexpected camera flash!

Bright upright "thumb" bud,
And see 2nd bud in back!

I'm not sure it will be tonight.
Buds still seem tightly closed

Yes, not tonight. I use a white led light for great picture.

Gigi is it a short bloom season?

I checked mine today and found more buds.

Here are 4 buds, 5th is hiding!

I'm getting sleepy, so may have to reheat leftover coffee!

I can see I may not get much sleep on bud blooming watch!

Mine is a different kind and mine only blooms a few hours at night. Morning the blooms are wilted
I can tell when it will open at night because after 8pm
I could see it partially opening.

Suspense... lots of buds! That will make a wonderful show. You will have to wait a little bit longer. When you see it partially open...then it will be time to stay up late.
